- Samuel, steel snuffer maker, of 32 Paradise Row, Birmingham in 1770 and later of Legge Street, Birmingham, b. circa 1741, m. Mary – . He d. 29 Jun 1813 (Lichfield Administration dated 18 Nov 1813), aged 72, she d. 2 Mar 1816 (Lichfield Administration dated 21 Nov 1816), aged 78, and they were both buried at St. James the Less, Ashted, Warwickshire having had issue:
- Samuel, steel snuffer maker, of Aston, Birmingham, living in 1816.
- Sarah, bapt 28 Dec 1752 at Penn, Staffordshire.
EDWARD ARMFIELD, a pocket-book lock maker, blind for the last 40 years of his life, of Greenbank Farm, Hall Green in the parish of Yardley, Worcestershire, b. 23 May 1734, bapt 6 Jun 1734 at Tettenhall, Staffordshire, m. 26 Feb 1756 at St. Peter’s, Wolverhampton, KINBARRA, bapt 26 Dec 1732 at Penn, dau of WALTER SWENE and his wife ELIZABETH (née HOLLIS). See Swene Family History. She d. 6 Apr 1808 and was buried at Hall Green on 13 Apr 1808 and he d. 13 Feb 1812 at 31 Paradise Row, Birmingham (P.C.C. will dated 24 Sep 1810 and proved 2 Mar 1812) having had issue:

- William, manufacturer of brass toys, bapt 17 Oct 1763 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, d. 17 Jul 1827.
- Elizabeth, b. circa 1757, m. 7 Nov 1799 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, Thomas Cooper, banker, of Birmingham. He d. 1818 (P.C.C. will dated 7 Dec 1817 and proved 2 May 1818) and she d.s.p. 25 Feb 1833, aged 76, in Birmingham (Will proved 3 Apr 1833).
- Mary, bapt 31 Jul 1761 at Penn, m. 20 Dec 1791 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Carver, Warwickshire Militia, who d. 17 Apr 1804, aged 56 (P.C.C. will dated 8 Aug 1797 and proved 19 May 1804) at Stourton Castle, Worcestershire, the residence of his sister, Mrs. Mary Steward. On 25 Mar 1798 he subscribed to the Tontine for the provision of a Public Library for Birmingham in the interest of his nephew, Edward Armfield.
- SARAH, bapt 1 Aug 1767 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 12 Sep 1793 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, ANDREW GUY CLARKE (see below) and had issue. See Clarke Family History.
- Kinbarra, bapt 1 Jan 1771 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, buried at St. Martin’s, Birmingham on 16 Apr 1771.
EDWARD ARMFIELD, proprietor of a plated and gilt button factory, Armfield & Son, at 9-10 Newhall Street and Bath Row, Birmingham, b. 5 Mar 1759, bapt 16 Apr 1759 at Penn, m. 6 Oct 1782 at Over Whitacre, Warwickshire, ANN PERKINS. The business was founded in 1763 and the premises were destroyed by bombing in 1940. He d. 10 Oct 1821 at 26 Bath Row, Birmingham and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 15 Oct 1821 (P.C.C. will dated 13 Mar 1815 and proved 26 Aug 1822) and she d. 29 Apr 1841 and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 6 May 1841 having had issue:

- William Thomas, partner in the button factory with his brother Edward, bapt 4 Dec 1793 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, d. unmarried 21 Mar 1835 (Lichfield will dated 6 Mar 1833 and proved 25 Aug 1835) and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 28 Mar 1835.
- Richard, merchant, of Cateaton Street, London, bapt 13 Oct 1797 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 22 Jul 1825 (Vicar-General Marriage Licence dated 19 Jul 1825) at St. Bride’s, Fleet Street, Elizabeth, bapt 25 Jul 1788 at St. Thomas Square Independent Chapel, Hackney, younger dau of John Braidwood and his wife Isabella, younger dau of Thomas Braidwood. Elizabeth was a grand-dau of Thomas Braidwood, founder of British education for the deaf. They had issue:
- Richard, living in 1833.
- Elizabeth, living in 1833.
- Charles Perkins, of Ashted Row, bapt 27 Dec 1804 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 17 Sep 1836 at Aston juxta Birmingham, Eliza Ann Lander. He d. 8 Dec 1838 and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 14 Dec 1838.
- Kinbarra, of Icknield Street West, Birmingham, bapt 5 Jul 1785 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 2 Mar 1815 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, James Newbold, butcher, widower, son of a grocer of Livery Street, Birmingham. He d. 1853 at Leamington Spa and she d. 14 Jun 1860 and they were both buried in Warstone Lane Cemetery having had issue:
- William Thomas Armfield, button manufacturer, bapt 27 Jan 1817 at Yoxall, Staffordshire, m. 1840 in Birmingham, Amelia Mayall and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham.
- Charles Edward, bapt 12 Oct 1819 at Leamington.
- Anne Armfield, bapt 18 Mar 1816 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, d. unmarried 26 Jul 1887 and was buried in Warstone Lane Cemetery.
- Eliza, b. 1818, d. unmarried 2 Dec 1890 and was buried in Warstone Lane Cemetery.
- Ann Maria, bapt 18 Oct 1805 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 30 Jun 1827 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, Edward Barker, metal dealer, of Edgbaston and had issue:
- William John, living in 1833.
- Edward Thomas, bapt 21 Apr 1831 at St. Philip’s, Birmingham.
- Alfred, bapt 13 Jan 1837 at St. Philip’s, Birmingham.

EDWARD ARMFIELD, proprietor of a plated and gilt button factory, Armfield & Co., at 9-10 Newhall Street and Bath Row, Birmingham, who lived at 70 Hagley Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, b. 13 Mar 1790, bapt 6 May 1790 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 1stly 3 Sep 1816 at St. Michael in Bedwardine, Worcester, his first cousin, ELIZABETH AMY, dau of ANDREW GUY CLARKE (see above) and his wife SARAH (née ARMFIELD). See Clarke Family History. She d. 11 Apr 1852 and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham having had issue:
- Thomas Cooper, bapt 2 Jul 1819 at St. Philip’s, Birmingham, d. 10 Mar 1820 and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 17 Mar 1820.
- Edward, bapt 26 Dec 1823 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 8 Sep 1859 at St. Philip’s, Liverpool, Eliza, second dau of John Stewart, J.P., Mayor of Liverpool. See Stewart Family History. He d.s.p. 2 Nov 1870 and she d. 28 Feb 1911 at Augustus Road, Edgbaston and was buried at Hall Green.
- William Thomas, b. circa 1826, buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 20 Jul 1827.
- John Guy, bapt 8 May 1828 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 6 Jul 1832.
- Charles Tertius, bapt 3 Nov 1829 at St. Thomas’s, Birmingham, buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 23 Jul 1855.
- Elizabeth Cooper, bapt 2 Jul 1819 at St. Philip’s, Birmingham, d. 16 Apr 1829 and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 23 Apr 1829.
- KINBARRA SWENE, of whom presently.
- Amy Jane, d. 22 Jul 1827, aged 11 months, and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham on 26 Jul 1827.
- Emma Cooper, bapt 7 Jun 1833 at St. Philip’s, Birmingham, d. unmarried 13 Nov 1861 and was buried in Warstone Lane Cemetery.
- Elizabeth Amy (Eliza), of 4 Wyndham Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, d. unmarried 27 Apr 1897 and was buried in Warstone Lane Cemetery. Her nephew, Edward Armfield Marrow, was her executor.
He m. 2ndly circa 1854, his first wife’s younger sister, Mary Anne Clarke. See Clarke Family History. He d. 5 Apr 1858 (Will dated 25 Jul 1856 and proved 9 Jun 1858) and was buried at St. Paul’s, Birmingham and she d.s.p. 6 Nov 1888 and was buried at St. Pauls’, Birmingham on 9 Nov 1888.
KINBARRA SWENE ARMFIELD, b. 4 May 1823 at Islington Row, Edgbaston, Birmingham, bapt 26 Dec 1823 at St. Martin’s, Birmingham, m. 25 Sep 1845 at Edgbaston Parish Church, WILLIAM JOHN MARROW, corn merchant, of Liverpool and later of Cavers, Manor Road, Bournemouth, only son of PETER MARROW and his wife ELIZA (née WILLIAMSON). See MARROW – Burke’s Landed Gentry 1969 Edition. He d. 6 Nov 1895 and she d. 9 Nov 1895 and they were both buried in Bournemouth Cemetery having had issue.
