There was a family by the name of ARGER living at Burnham Westgate (now Burnham Market), Norfolk around 1780 and it is possible that the following were brothers:

WILLIAM ARGER or ARCHER, described as being of Burnham Westgate in the Bodham Parish Register, b. circa 1742, m. 1stly 20 Jan 1786 at Bodham, Norfolk, Susanna, dau of Chapman Plane. She was bapt 4 Aug 1765 at West Beckham, Norfolk and was buried at Fakenham, Norfolk, aged 24, on 24 May 1789 having had issue:

He m. 2ndly 12 Aug 1792 at Fakenham, ELIZABETH, b. 21 Apr 1775, bapt 27 Apr 1775 at Fakenham, dau of LAWRENCE BOND and his wife ANN (née ARMIGER). A Lawrence Bond was ejected from the Common Council of Norwich in 1687. She d. 9 Dec 1846 and was buried at Fakenham on 12 Dec 1846 and he was buried at Fakenham, aged 88, on 11 Feb 1830 having had further issue:

- Edmund, agricultural labourer, of Hays Lane, Fakenham, bapt 31 Aug 1801 at Fakenham, m. 14 Nov 1821 at North Barsham, Norfolk, Mary Anne Poppey, who was deaf. He was buried at Fakenham, aged 57, on 27 Nov 1858 having had issue:

WIGGETT ARCHER of Fakenham, bapt 9 Oct 1805 at Fakenham, m. 1stly 14 Jan 1827 at Fakenham, SARAH, bapt 10 Nov 1806 at Fakenham, dau of ROBERT THOMPSON of Fakenham and his wife REBECCA (née WALKER). She was buried at Fakenham on 29 May 1856 having had issue:

- Thomas, m. 1854, Elizabeth Paroley of Fakenham. He was buried at Fakenham, aged 62, in May 1888 and she was buried at Fakenham, aged 72, on 2 Sep 1893.

WILLIAM ARCHER of Fakenham, bapt 7 May 1830 at Fakenham, m. 16 Nov 1851 at the parish church of Ryburgh Magna, Norfolk, SARAH, dau of EDMUND SMITH of Little Ryburgh and his wife SUSAN (née TAYLOR). He d. 1892 at Fakenham and she d. 1901 having had issue:
- Robert, b. 19 Jul 1854 at Rampant Horse Yard, Fakenham, bapt 19 Aug 1854 at Fakenham and was buried at Fakenham on 2 Sep 1854.
- Robert William, bapt 20 Dec 1859 at Fakenham, buried at Fakenham on 27 Dec 1859.

ROBERT ARCHER, miller’s porter in 1901, of Fakenham, b. 5 Sep 1862 at Holt Road, Fakenham, m. 20 Jun 1886 at the Independent Chapel, Fakenham, ALICE ANNIE LAYTON LEWIS. She d. 9 Jan 1933, aged 70, and he d. 2 Dec 1948 and they were both buried in Fakenham Cemetery in the area reserved for non-conformists having had issue:

- Sarah, of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, b. 9 Aug 1894, m. 28 Mar 1921 at the Buckenham Memorial Church, Oak Street, Fakenham, Herbert Thomas, son of Thomas Wilkin of Reepham, Norfolk and had issue:
- Gwendoline, b. 1922, living in 1937.
ALFRED ARTHUR ARCHER, commercial traveller, insurance agent and shopkeeper, of Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough in 1940, of Fernlea, Glinton, near Peterborough 1950-55, of 505 Fulbridge Road, Werrington, Peterborough 1958-63, of 1400 Lincoln Road, Werrington in 1965, grocer’s porter in Fakenham in 1901, served as a Corporal in The Somerset Light Infantry and also the Civil Service Rifles during he First World War (Army No. 33386), was shot through the wrist and taken prisoner during the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917, subsequently detained in a prisoner-of-war camp at Osnabrück, Germany, b. 24 May 1886 at Petticoat Lane, Fakenham, m. 27 Nov 1915 at the Primitive Methodist Church, Queen’s Road, Lakenham, Norfolk, MILDRED SELINA (alternative photograph), younger dau of JOSEPH CATCHPOLE and his wife SELINA (née DENNIS). - Wilfred Robert, O.St.J., S.R.N., R.N.T., Wing Commander, Royal Air Force Medical Services from 11 May 1973, appointed Officer Brother of the Order of St. John on 20 Jul 1966, b. 4 Nov 1920, bapt 4 Jan 1921 at Fakenham, commissioned on 14 Mar 1957, retired 4 Nov 1975, m. 22 Aug 1942 at Paston, Peterborough, Kathleen, b. 5 Aug 1920 at Grimsby, Lincolnshire, dau of Frederic Masters and his wife Ruth (née Davison) of Peterborough. He d. 7 Aug 1982 at Torquay having had issue: 1 son and 1 dau.
